The story

ABBA — Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid — won Eurovision in 1974 and went on to sell hundreds of millions of records, becoming one of the best-selling acts in pop history. Opened in 2013, ABBA The Museum tells that story from the inside: it is built around real costumes, instruments and memorabilia donated by the band members themselves, with the motto 'Walk in, dance out.'

What makes it special

  • Original stage costumes, gold records and the actual instruments used on the recordings.
  • A faithful replica of the Polar Studio control room where the hits were recorded.
  • Interactive stages where you can sing and dance on screen alongside holograms of the band.
  • A red telephone on display that, the band say, only they can call — and sometimes do.

Plan your visit

The museum sits in the lively Djurgården district, a short walk or ferry ride from the city centre and close to the Vasa Museum. Timed entry is common in summer, so it is worth arriving early on busy days.
